Nature’s Miracle Supreme Odor Control Natural Oatmeal Shampoo And Conditioner

Nature’s Miracle products are absolute standbys in the pet world, as far as we’re concerned. Their special enzyme formulas are a reliable, non-toxic way to get pee and poop smells, stains, and stubborn residues out of carpets and upholstery. We’ve recently become big fans of their shampoos as well.

This shampoo is an excellent choice for husky owners on a budget. It’s way less expensive than our other picks, but is also much more natural and non-toxic than other inexpensive options. The Nature’s Miracle formula is completely pet-safe, using the power of enzymes to take care of stinky particles and clean out both layers of your pooch’s coat.

There are a few reasons why you might want to spend a bit more for the Earthbath or Wahl products below, though. The Wahl in particular is great at reducing shedding, though it is the least natural of the three. The Earthbath is the best all-around husky shampoo, as far as we’re concerned. It’s just as good as the Nature’s Miracle at deodorizing and gives the Wahl a run for its money in the shedding department. However, the Nature’s Miracle is really stellar for what it costs.

Wahl Dog/Puppy Shed Control Shampoo

The number one concern most husky owners ask us about is shedding. How to reduce it, how to cope with it more effectively, and so on. Shampoo plays a big role in reducing shedding, and this Wahl product is particular good for that. It’s a bit on the chemical-y side, though it’s still relatively natural and mostly plant-based. Get it if your primary concern is shedding and you don’t want to pay a premium for the completely natural Earthbath.

This Wahl formula is one of our favorite shed control products because it pairs gentle surfactants (which loosen dead hair to help you comb it out) with a range of nourishing and moisturizing agents (which help maintain coat and skin health to prevent itching and hair damage in the first place). The Wahl shampoo also leaves a fairly strong scent behind, which lasts longer than the Nature’s Miracle.

We do prefer the Earthbath overall, though. It’s more natural than the Wahl, and we prefer the essential oil-based scent. It does just as much to reduce shedding, as well as being a more nourishing product all-around. Just be prepared to spend quite a bit more.

Earthbath All Natural Pet Shampoo

Earthbath’s all-natural pet shampoos are some of our favorite all-around grooming products for any breed. They’re very hypoallergenic, all-natural, and as effective as you’d hope for the price. You’ll find that the nourishing, plant-based formula does wonders for your husky’s coat and skin, keeping itching and shedding to an absolute minimum. Plus, the essential oils leave your pooch smelling fresh and clean for days afterward.

Why should you pay this much for a dog shampoo? There are a few reasons why you might want to consider the Earthbath.

For one thing, it’s the most pleasant to work with. The Nature’s Miracle product above is quite watery, while the Wahl shampoo is almost like a foam soap you’d get in a public restroom. They both work well, but this feels more like shampoo ought to. It’s thick and rubs into a lot of lather-perfect for working on your husky’s coat.

It’s also the most natural, so it’s the safest for you, your pooch, and the environment. All the products we recommend are completely pet-safe, but some products with enzymes and more aggressive surfactants can be irritating to animals, even big huskies. We can’t imagine any dog having a negative reaction to the Earthbath!

Buying Guide

Know Your Animal

It’s always important when choosing a new grooming product to consider your specific animal. Just like us humans, our furry friends have sensitivities and preferences that determine whether a given shampoo will be a good fit. If you know your animal is aggravated or triggered by certain ingredients, scents, or so forth, it’s essential to consider that before you buy anything!

Huskies tend to be pretty low-maintenance, but do your homework and always keep a list of allergies and sensitivities you discover over your pet’s lifetime. It’ll help you be a better owner and a smarter shopper.

Know Your Breed

As we’ve just mentioned, huskies tend to be rugged pooches who aren’t bothered by much. Of course, you should still do your due diligence to find products that are completely pet-safe. However, you don’t need to be super concerned about finding the most hypoallergenic products on the market.

Having said that, you should make sure you know exactly what you’re looking for when you shop for a husky shampoo. Huskies are a particularly fluffy breed, so you want something that produces a sizeable quantity of lather.

You’ll also want to look for something that can reduce shedding. You can certainly choose a specific shedding-control shampoo, but anything that reduces itching, dryness, and coat damage will help a lot too.

And, of course, as with any two-layer coat, your husky’s fur can get stinky fairly quickly. You’ll want a shampoo that deodorizes well and penetrates through to the inner layer of fur.
